New Stuff from Barrier
It had been a while since I dropped in on our old friend Michael Barrier. A quick perusal of his site earlier this evening yielded two very interesting essays — one on the widespread perception that Walt Disney was an anti-Semite (Walt and a “Double Standard”), and another on the whitewashing of the Disney legend (The Approved Narrative).
Based on these two essays, it’s clear that Barrier remains one of our most interesting and outspoken historians of animation. “Narrative”, the latter piece, sheds new light on the book Two Guys Named Joe and serves as a fine counterpoint to that volume.
